Dehradun, pkgnews24.com,Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Secretary) said that the welfare of soldiers and their dependents should be given top priority in the military dominated state of Uttarakhand. The Governor took a meeting of Uttarakhand Sainik Rehabilitation Society at Raj Bhavan on Thursday. He said that the Sainik Rehabilitation Institution would have to work in the state with an effective vision, mission and thinking. The organization has to reach the next level of self-responsibility. Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Secretary) directed Principal Secretary Sainik Welfare Shri L Fanai and other concerned officers to ensure that adequate data of the beneficiaries of Uttarakhand Sainik Rehabilitation Society, including Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris, Sainik Dependents and Divyang Soldiers, should be digitally be made available Governor said that AI enabled Android mobile based portal and website of the Sainik Rehabilitation Society should be developed so that the ex-servicemen and their dependents can easily get in touch with the organization. He said that the problems of soldiers, ex-servicemen and their families who received gallantry awards should be resolved on priority basis. Along with this, the Governor talked about giving special emphasis on the welfare and rehabilitation of the widows of the martyrs. The Governor directed Secretary Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha to provide incentive amount of Rs.5001 per soldier to all the disabled ex-servicemen of the state on behalf of Raj Bhavan.
Governor said that Uttarakhand Sainik Rehabilitation Institution should be completely modernized. He instructed the organization that efforts should be made to open training centers for army recruitment in every district of the state. For this, the playgrounds of the schools can be used for this purpose. The Governor said that the Army Rehabilitation Organization will have to make efforts that how can the role of a game changer in organic farming, natural farming, forestry, reverse migration to the marginal areas in the state. He said that the Sainik Rehabilitation Organization would also have to make efforts to increase the participation of daughters of ex-servicemen in NDA, military services and other prestigious central and state government services. The Governor talked about the coordination of schemes run by the Central Government, State Government and Sainik Rehabilitation Organization for the welfare of soldiers. He said that the contribution of the Rehabilitation Society should be considered in the Him Prahari scheme being launched by the State Government. Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Secretary) will soon inspect the agricultural lands of Uttarakhand Sainik Rehabilitation Society. Governor said that maximum utilization of 1423 acres of land of the institution should be made and aromatic, medicinal herbs and organic farming should be promoted on these. The Governor instructed the officers to make a concrete action plan on this.
