Dehradun- Pahadonkigoonj, 18 April 2022- The fourth day of the Virasat Art and Heritage Festival 2022 began with the program ‘Virasat Sadhana’. Under the Virasat Sadhana program, 13 schools of Dehradun participated in which a total of 18 children gave a presentation based on Indian classical music. In singing,

children performed on popular ragas of India, while some students presented Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi. Children also gave their enchanting performances on the instrumental instrument on Tabla, Harmonium and Sitar.
Schools that participated in Virasat Sadhna include Raja Rammohan Roy Academy, St. Joseph’s Academy, Doon International School, Phaliphot Public School, Welham Girls School, Him Jyoti School, Ghunghuru Kathak Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Summer Valley School, New Doon Blossom School, Guru Ram Rai Public School, Tarun Sangeet & Vichar Manch, Shemrock Nakrodhan, and Social Baluni Public School.
The cultural evening program started with lamp lighting and Kathak dancer Shikha Sharma gave her beautiful performances. Let us tell you that dancer Shikha Sharma is a student of Guru Rani Khanum, who is a senior dancer and mentor. In addition to obtaining a master’s degree from Khairagarh University, Chhattisgarh, he has also received education like Bhatkhande, Visharad and Praveen from a well-known university in India. Dancer Shikha Sharma has mesmerized people with her dance in India as well as internationally in countries like Qatar Festival UAE, Europe, Taiwan, Russia.
In other presentations of the same cultural program, there were presentations of Kabir Gyan by Ramchandra Gangolis ji in which he recited Amar Sufi Kabir Vani, Doha, Bhajan. Ramchandra Gangolis ji is a renowned artist known for singing the compositions of masters of the Nirguna sect along with Indian literature and music.
Ramchandra Gangolia was born in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. For the last 20 years, in the folk style of Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh, he has been preserving and reviving Malwa folk songs, Kabir and Nathpanthi hymns and presenting them among the people. He has contributed in promoting Malwa folk singing and Kabir singing by forming a cultural group. Ramchandra Gangolia ji has taken Malvi folk singing to the people at the state and national level.
In this 15-day festival, stalls have also been set up by organizations from different provinces of India, where you can enjoy the diversity of India. The stalls set up mainly include stalls of different types of cuisines of India, handlooms and handicrafts, Afghan dry fruits, traditional crockery, Indian wooden crafts and bamboo crafts from Nagaland along with other stalls.
