C. Ravi Shankar reviewed various preparations for the by-election in Champawat Assembly Constituency through video conferencing on Friday. He directed the District Election Officer, Champawat to complete all the preparations in time to conduct the fair, peaceful and free elections.
Additional Chief Electoral Officer said that the availability of election material should be ensured in time. Special attention should be given to security plan and training of personnel. The control room should be fully activated. Reports should be sent regularly.
The Additional Chief Electoral Officer directed that the cooperation of the media can also be taken to conduct the election process in a transparent manner. Special facilities should be made available to differently-abled voters and elderly people above the age of 80 years. Training of polling personnel and micro observers and security of EVMs and VVPATs should be ensured and material should be arranged for polling places as per Kovid protocol. He said that a well-planned arrangement should be made for the counting center. Keep a constant vigil on the C-Vigil app.
On this occasion Joint Chief Electoral Officer Pratap Shah, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Jitendra Kumar, Nodal Officer of Expenditure Monitoring Committee Manmohan Mainali, District Election Officer Champawat, Superintendent of Police Champawat, Deputy District Election Officer Champawat, Returning Officer through video conferencing. Other concerned officials including Champawat Assembly Constituency were present.
