Dehradun, pkgnews24.com,ADG, ITBP Western Command, Manoj Singh Rawat, paid a courtesy call on Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Seni) at Raj Bhavan. During this, discussions were held regarding the mission, vision and challenges of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force and Western Command. The Governor said that the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) force occupies an important position for the security of the Indo-China border. Apart from this, the force is also playing an important role in many internal security operations. The Governor said that most of the border posts of the force are located at altitudes ranging from 9,000 feet to 18,800 feet where the temperature drops to minus 45 degree Celsius, rendering of duty in such extreme conditions is commendable in itself. ITBP also conducts relief and rescue operations as a first responder to natural calamities in the Himalayan region which is very important for a state like Uttarakhand.
