Prof. Srinivas Chari gave a virtual presentation regarding the innovation program ‘Water’ (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene) in water sanitation and hygiene. He gave presentation on Innovation Summit and Exhibition on Water Sanitation and Sanitation and its study, research and implementation plans in Uttarakhand. “WASH” has been established by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Government of Telangana for collaboration and partnership between startups/innovators, academic institutions, non-profit organizations.
Launched in the year 2019, “WASH” has undertaken multiple activities and currently has more than 600 innovations under sanitation and waste management.
Appreciating the presentation on this occasion, the Governor said that solid waste management and plastic free campaign is being run in Uttarakhand also.
He said that such innovations are also useful for Uttarakhand, so that solid waste management and cleanliness can be promoted here. He said that water sanitation, sanitation and plastic waste management are in front of us as a challenge, which is also harming public health and environment.
The Governor said that for this there is a need to implement innovations in technical planning, data, monitoring and behavior change. He said that with the support of “WASH”, other excellent innovations including zero plastic, waste to money, sanitation, water reuse will be implemented. Along with this, research and solutions will also be found for cleaning the Nainital lake and other water bodies.
The Governor said that innovation conferences and exhibitions in water sanitation and hygiene can be organized with the help of “WASH”. In this, all the stakeholders related to cleanliness should be called and informed about the innovations and suitable innovations should be implemented. During this, Secretary, Nitesh Kumar Jha, Secretary, Governor Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary Smt. Swati S. Bhadauria, Vice Admiral (Retd) Anil Kumar Chawla etc. were present.
