Some folk festivals dedicated to Shri Anna: Ghenja, Naithavan of Kodu, Bhog of Bari to Ishtadev Chauranginath, Chunya, Aska, Anthay, Pinaula
We are the residents of that land of Gods where the end of harvesting of Shri Anna Kodu is celebrated with great enthusiasm and pomp “Kodu ka Naithavan festival”.
In the National Millet Conference to be held in Mussoorie, the perspective of Uttarakhand should also be discussed:
1. The day of “Kodu ka Naithavan festival” should be declared as National Kodu Day.
2. Kodu (Mandwa) should be declared as the state crop of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.
3. Thousands of people from the mountains of Uttarakhand work as chefs in foreign countries and they have a strong contribution in the economy of Uttarakhand, so make ShriAnn a hero to reach every plate of the world.
4. Efforts should be made by the government to save the heritage of the folk festivals of the mountain dedicated to Shri Anna.
5. Lack of pine, lantina grass, carrot grass, talk of wild animals and organic fertilizers till the fields of the farmers. If there is a solid policy for the revival of barren land, only then the production of food grains will increase.
6. Most of the farmers in the mountain are farmers with small holdings, the purchase of food grains should be done at the village level by SHGs or at government cheap throat shops.
7. Pumpkin’s stem is sweet when it remains green, but no one’s attention has ever gone towards the utility of its sweet juice, so research should be done.
** Detailed justification on all the above 7 points was sent earlier in the service of the government.
The young chefs of the mountains who are working in foreign countries can become the heroes of taking Shri Anna’s dishes across the seven seas to the people’s plate, but there is a need that a seminar should be organized for them to encourage them.
