In the program, PM Modi said, “Earlier in 2019, we also had the opportunity to celebrate the 550th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and in 2017 the 350th Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. I am happy that today our country is moving forward with full devotion on the ideals of our Gurus. On this virtuous occasion, I bow at the feet of all ten gurus. Hearty congratulations to all of you, to all the countrymen and to all the people who have faith in Guruvani all over the world, on the occasion of Prakash Parv.
PM Modi said, “In the 75 years since independence, so many dreams of India have echoed from here, so this event being held at Red Fort during the Amrit Festival of Independence has become very special. This Red Fort has been a witness to many important periods. This fort has also seen the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji and has also tested the courage of people who died for the country. Cannot be seen separately from the cultural and spiritual journey of India, so today the country is celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence and the 400th Prakash Parv of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib together.

There were people in front of our India, who considered religion as the subject of philosophy, science and self-research, who had committed violence and tyranny in the name of religion. At that time a great hope was seen for India to save its identity in the form of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. At that time Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, becoming ‘Hind di Chadar’, stood like a rock in front of Aurangzeb’s tyrannical thinking.
Two day program concludes today
This program was organized by the Government of India in collaboration with Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee. Yesterday, many big leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah had attended this program. During this two-day event (April 20 and 21), ragis and children from different parts of the country are participating in ‘Shabd Kirtan’. A grand light and sound show depicting the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji took place. Apart from this, the traditional martial art of Sikhs ‘Gatka’ was also organized. The program focuses on outlining the teachings of the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur.
Know Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
Guru Tegh Bahadur ji had sacrificed his life to protect religion and human values, ideals and principles in world history. He was executed on the orders of the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb for supporting the religious freedom of Kashmiri Pandits. His death anniversary, November 24, is celebrated every year as Martyrdom Day. Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib and Gurdwara Rakab Ganj in Delhi are associated with his sacred sacrifice. His legacy serves as a great force of solidarity for this nation.
