New Delhi: Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana boldly said a big thing in front of PM Modi. The CJI said that the governments are the biggest litigants in the country.

Sometimes the government deliberately stalls the matters. He said that it is not our job to make policy, but if any citizen comes with these issues, then we have to tell all this.

PM Modi said that this issue has been raised by the CJI itself, but it will take time because it is a very complicated matter from filing the application to the decision. The PM also said that we had taken the initiative to abolish hundreds of laws which are no longer relevant, but the states have repealed only 75 laws so far. The PM urged the Chief Ministers to bring people out of the web of such laws.

Chief Justice NV Ramana has advocated hearing in the High Courts of the country in addition to English in local languages. He said that there should be a hearing in the local languages ​​in the High Court so that the justice goes closer to the general public. The CJI said that now the time has come to move forward in this regard.

PM Modi said that the language of the court should be local

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also supported his demand and said that for social justice, not only the need to go to the scales of justice is enough, but language is also a big hindrance in it.

We have proceedings in the Supreme Court and High Court in English. But now there is a need to encourage the local language in the courts. The PM said that this will increase the confidence of the common citizen in justice. The PM said, “Justice is the basis of governance. Justice should be simple and accessible in the language of the people. Apart from the judicial language, the law should also be in the common citizen’s language which is understandable to the common citizens.”
