Kanwar Mela: Fair area divided into 12 super zones, 33 zones and 153 sectors
Haridwar. The Kanwar Mela will formally start from July 4. There will be strict security arrangements from sky to the ground in the fair. Police, PAC and paramilitary forces have been appointed to conduct the fair safely. After the briefing of ADG Law and Crime, the Force Mela left for duty. The force will be deployed everywhere.
Drone will also be monitored in the fair area. The Mela area is divided into 12 Super Zones, 33 Zones and 153 Sectors. On Saturday, ADG Crime and Law and Order V Murugesan briefed the officers and staff (police force) appointed at the Kanwar Mela at the multipurpose building at Police Line Roshanabad.
After the briefing, the force was sent to the duty station. The ADG said that in view of the huge crowd gathered during the Kanwar Yatra and the ongoing Chardham Yatra, the yatra has to be completed safely with full dedication as a challenge. Spreading of any kind of rumor should be stopped immediately. In the event of an accident, efforts should be made to smoothen the arrangements till their arrival by informing their officials without losing time.
IG Range Karan Singh Nagnyal, while sharing his experiences related to the Kanwar fair, said that be vigilant about all the incidents around. The traffic plan should be implemented in a systematic manner. DIG Information and Security Dr. Yogendra Singh Rawat while giving instructions said to discharge your duty with utmost caution in the fair. District Magistrate Dhiraj Singh Garbyal said that meeting should be held according to mutual coordination and requirement. Especially during the entire Kanwar Mela, everyone should do their duty with high level of patience. There is a possibility of continuous rain in Kanwar. To maintain the arrangements even in the midst of rain, keep poles, raincoats and torches with you. Keep water bottles with you to avoid dehydration. Alternatively, use ORS, lemon also.
The entire Mela area has been divided into 12 super zones, 33 zones and 153 sectors. ASP level officers will handle the responsibility of Super Zone. The responsibility of the zone has been entrusted to the CO and Inspector and the SHO, SO and SSI level officers of the sector. Five teams of BDS, Dog Squad have been appointed in the Mela area. For the prevention of terrorist incidents, two teams of Anti-Terrorist Squad will remain active in the Mela area and will be ready all the time to deal with every suspicious person or situation. CO City Juhi Manral has been appointed as Welfare Officer. She will also work for the welfare of the employees and to solve their problems during the Kanwar Mela.
