Delay in giving compensation to dam affected families
There is a lack of will power of the dam authorities for the affected families.
The government should make arrangements to directly transfer money to the dam affected families in their accounts.
The officers should have so much knowledge that they get facilities from public finance for the service of the public.

State’s Irrigation, Tourism, Public Works, Panchayati Raj, Rural Works, Watershed, Endowment and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj held a meeting with the officials of THDC and Rehabilitation Directorate at his camp office on Subhash Road on Tuesday for the rehabilitation of Tehri Dam affected families. In view of the delay in disbursing the compensation amount of Rs 74.40 lakh per family, the THDC officials were strongly reprimanded and instructed to give immediate compensation to the families of affected villages like Nandgaon, Khand, Dharmandal and Gadoli etc.
It is to be known that as a result of the efforts of Irrigation Minister Satpal Maharaj in the past, while resolving the problems of 415 displaced families affected by Tehri Dam, it was decided after several rounds of meetings with the Center that THDC would give full relief to each and every family affected. 74.40 lakh will be given as compensation.
Under Collateral Damage Policy-2013 and Revised Collateral Damage Policy-2021, compensation amount was to be paid by THDC to the families of affected villages like Nandgaon, Village Khand, Dharmandal and Gadoli etc. But THDC has so far distributed only 50% of the amount of 9 crore 35 lakhs to 24 fully affected families of Nandgaon. In view of the delay of THDC, Irrigation Minister Satpal Maharaj has reprimanded the officials and directed to distribute the compensation amount to the families of the affected villages at the earliest.Due to the promptness of Irrigation Minister Maharaj, the problem of the affected families is being solved.
Tehri Dam is a multi-use project in which thousands of years of culture has been absorbed by the affected families. Director SP Singh ji had said that by giving them more facilities, their work efficiency will increase and these officers, by concentrating on the multi-purpose project, by giving facilities to the public, the affected people, the employees and officers working in the project will not have to go to other companies to do jobs.
So many facilities have been given to them by taking loans, but the tail of the officials was tidied, they were more focused on their promotion. Along with drinking water, additional irrigation is being provided to 3 50 lakh hectares. Jeetmani Painuli Convenor Tehri Dam Pratapnagar Sangharsh Samiti has demanded the Irrigation Minister to link the bank accounts of the dam affected families to facilitate the people of Maharaj.
The compensation amount should be sent to their accounts, the rest should be taken so that in view of the inflation, they can add facilities for themselves, other action is in the hands of the government, whenever they want, they can do it.
The officers should have so much knowledge that they get facilities from public finance for the service of the public.
Satpal Maharaj’s sense of service towards the people becomes sadhna through him.
Painuli has sent a letter dated January 5, 2010 to the Central Government Energy Secretary to implement the agreement signed with the government for the people of Pratapnagar, hoping to get it implemented. Wishing a bright future to the dam affected Maharaj
