The cultural program began with the lighting of the lamp and Santosh Kumar Nahar, a young violinist from North India, presented his classical music “Hindustani style”. Santosh Kumar Nahar has given a unique identity to his singing and his presentation by linking his melodious vocal style “singing” to “tantric” style. The Wadali Brothers are a famous duo of Sufi singers from Punjab originally consisting of Puranchandji and his younger brother Pyarelalji. Puranchand ji received his musical education from famous masters like Pandit Durga Das and Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan of the Patiala Gharana. He has provided extensive classical music training and guidance to his son Lakhwinder. His repertoire includes Sufi saints, romantic folk songs, ghazals, bhajans and bhangra, with alap and taan being important aspects of his music. They live in their ancestral home, Guru Ki Wadali, and teach music to those who promise to preserve it. He does not charge his students and leads a very simple life devoted to the divine.
A heritage stall has been set up by the nutritious village industries organization, which came from Kalsi, where the people of Dehradun have been kept for the people of the hill traditional snacks, long, Jhangor ki barfi, porridge, rajma, multigrain namkeen etc., which are being liked by the people.
