Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd) visited Baba Kedarnath*

Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd) reached Kedarnath Dham on Thursday to visit Baba Kedarnath. He performed Rudrabhishek of Baba Kedarnath and offered special worship to Baba and wished for the welfare of the world and people. During this, he also inspected the ongoing reconstruction and development works in Kedarnath.

Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (R), who arrived on a one-day visit to visit Baba Kedarnath Dham, was welcomed by District Magistrate Dr. Saurabh Gaharwar and Superintendent of Police Dr. Visakha at the VIP helipad. After greeting all the officers and employees present on duty, the Governor met the Tirtha Purohit Samaj. The priestly community welcomed and felicitated him with traditional chanting of mantras. After meeting all the pilgrim priests, the Governor entered Baba Kedarnath temple and offered special prayers and wished for the welfare of the entire world and humanity. During this, he also sought blessings from Baba Kedar for the sustainable development of Uttarakhand.

After the puja, the Governor greeted the devotees standing in the temple courtyard and also got them cheering for Baba Kedar. He addressed the devotees and said that there is no one in this world greater than a devotee of Shiva. Impressed by the satirical scene of Kedar Valley, the Governor said that Lord Bholenath resides in every particle of Kedar Valley. The image of Lord Shiva is visible in the mountains here. It is the glory of Lord Kedarnath that as soon as a person reaches Kedarpur, man starts meditating. During this, he also reviewed the ongoing development and construction works in Kedarpuri with the District Magistrate.

Appreciating all the people of District Administration, Police, NDRF, SDRF and Temple Committee who are contributing in making the Yatra of Shri Kedarnath Dham smooth and well organized, he inspired everyone to do better work. On this occasion, Kedar Sabha President Rajkumar Tiwari, Treasurer Praveen Tiwari, former President Kishan, Pankaj Shukla, Umesh Chandra Posti, Tej Prakash Trivedi, Deputy District Magistrate Ukhimath Jitendra Verma along with pilgrim priests and Shiva devotees were present.

Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd) on Thursday met ITBP, Army and BRO soldiers at Malari, adjacent to the China border in Chamoli district. During the tour of this strategically important area, the Governor encouraged the soldiers and said that in difficult circumstances in the high mountain areas, our soldiers perform their duties with selfless service. Because of them we and our country are safe. He said that we all are proud of the enthusiasm and passion of the country’s soldiers deployed on the borders in difficult circumstances. During this, he also discussed with the soldiers about their problems and challenges.

The Governor said that the border dwellers are our border guards. We cannot keep our borders safe without keeping the border villages safe. Under the Vibrant Village Scheme, efforts are being made to provide water, electricity, roads, health, communication and other basic facilities in the border villages.

After meeting the soldiers at the border, the Governor reached Badrinath Dham at 11:30 pm. While visiting and worshiping Lord Badri Vishal in Badrinath temple, he prayed for the happiness, prosperity and prosperity of the country and the state. In the temple premises, the temple committee and pilgrim priests welcomed the Governor by presenting him Angavastra, Tulsi garland and Prasad. During this, the Governor interacted with the devotees and also took stock of the travel arrangements.

The Governor also inquired about the progress of reconstruction works conducted under the master plan at BRO Guest House Badrinath. He said that the way the reconstruction work of the Honorable Prime Minister’s ambitious project Badrinath Master Plan is being carried forward rapidly is highly praiseworthy and commendable. For this, everyone including the entire administration team deserves congratulations. He said that in the coming times, Badrinath Dham will look even more divine and grand.
