For the interest and welfare of the journalists of Madhya Pradesh, it has been sought to expand the facilities as per the Madhya Pradesh pattern by providing them immediate and interim relief.

In the letter sent by the state president of the union, Trilok Chandra Bhatt, to the state Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, it has been said that many welfare schemes are being run for the journalists by the state government in Uttarakhand, however, at present there are no welfare schemes for the journalists and their dependents. They are not enough. He has said that journalists do not get enough salary or remuneration from their institutions, newspapers and magazines to be able to run their families well. Whereas in many other states of the country they are being provided better facilities.

Bhatt informed the Chief Minister that recently Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has made big announcements for journalists. In which the honor fund given per month to senior and elderly journalists is being increased from Rs 10 thousand to Rs 20 thousand. On the death of a journalist who has received the Samman Nidhi, his wife will be given a lump sum amount of Rs 8 lakh instead of pension. Whereas the maximum loan amount under housing loan interest subsidy for journalists receiving preferential fund is being increased from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh. Apart from this, 5 percent interest subsidy on the interest on loan taken from the bank for the education of the children of journalists will also be borne by the government for 5 years.

In view of this, Bhatt has demanded to expand the facilities as per Madhya Pradesh pattern by providing immediate and interim relief for the interest and welfare of the journalists of Uttarakhand. In the four-point demand letter sent by him, it has been said that the existing pension amount given per month to senior and elderly journalists of Uttarakhand should be doubled from 8 thousand to 16 thousand so that the senior and elderly journalists who have completed 60 years of age can get the pension. There should be no problem in living. Also, on the death of a pensioner receiving journalist, a lump sum amount of Rs 8 lakh should be provided to his wife/dependent. So that they can get ease in their sustenance and living.
Bhatt, on behalf of the union, has demanded that a housing loan scheme should be implemented for journalists constructing houses and interest subsidy on housing loans, up to a maximum of Rs 30 lakh, should be provided. It has also been demanded that 5 percent interest subsidy on the loan interest should be borne by the government for 5 years if the journalists take loan from the bank for the education of their children.
With respect- Trilok Chandra Bhatt
