A review meeting related to agriculture, horticulture, seed certification, silk department and aromatic plants has been called by the Minister, Agriculture, Sainik Welfare, Rural Development Department, Government of Uttarakhand on July 24, 2023 (Monday) at 10:30 am at its camp office – 17, New Cantt Road, Hathibarkala, Dehradun.

Haridwar, 23 July. State’s Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi visited about 35 disaster-affected villages of Mangalore, Laksar, Khanpur area of Haridwar district on Sunday.
During this, minister Ganesh Joshi also met the affected farmers of the villages of all the three constituencies and assured the farmers on behalf of the state government to compensate them for the damage caused to their crops due to rains.
On this occasion, the farmers put forward their problems regarding the damage caused due to excessive rains in front of Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi. The minister was apprised by the farmers that along with the heavy rains, the chemical water of the industrial area has also damaged the crops, its sampling should be done. During this, he assured the people affected by the disaster that Dhami government is with them. Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi said that the farmer is our food provider, to know the problems of the farmers, the flood affected areas are being reviewed.
So that every possible help should be given to the farmers. He told that the government has postponed the electricity bills of the farmers for three months, has also banned the recovery of banks for three months on agricultural loans. He said that the entire area is being declared disaster-hit and help is being provided as per the norms set by the government. Minister Ganesh Joshi also directed the Secretary Agriculture to camp in the disaster-affected area of Haridwar district for some villages which have been left out of the survey due to excessive waterlogging. The minister said that solving every problem of farmers is our food provider and it is a priority of the government. He said that there has been a demand to waive off the interest of the farmers on agricultural loans, which will also be resolved soon. The minister said that the central government’s compensation standards are very less, whatever loss has been caused to our farmer brothers, it will be negligible. In this regard too, he will talk to the Chief Minister and try to help the farmer brothers from the Disaster Relief Fund. So that the farmers can get relief.
He said that in some places in the disaster-affected Haridwar district, it was seen that due to the chemical water coming from Sidcul, there has been a lot of damage to agriculture and the sugarcane crop has been damaged. Will hand over the report of all this to the Chief Minister. The minister said that the Pushkar Singh Dhami government is standing with its farmer brothers in such a difficult situation.
