Hemkund Sahib Yatra interrupted due to snowfall, pilgrims stopped

In such a situation, the administration has stopped the pilgrims going to Hemkund Sahib only at Govindghat and Ghangaria. Tourists going to the Valley of Flowers have also been stopped due to snowfall.
Chamoli Superintendent of Police Shweta Choubey said that it is snowing in Hemkund Sahib. Pilgrims going to Hemkund have been stopped at Ghangaria and Govindghat for security reasons. As soon as the weather clears, the pilgrims will be sent towards Hemkund. At the same time, due to bad weather, the police have appealed to the passengers staying at Rishikesh, Srinagar, Nagrasu Gurdwara not to travel further for the time being. In the past too, there was snowfall in Hemkund Sahib. Pilgrims who reached Hemkund enjoyed heavy snowfall. Today the weather is bad and it is snowing. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain at some places in the state today. Due to which the temperature can drop further. Let us inform that the doors of Hemkund Sahib were opened on 22nd May. This time the government and Gurdwara Shri Hemkund Sahib Management Trust have also fixed the number of devotees in Hemkund Sahib. In such a situation, this time only 5000 devotees are being allowed to pay obeisance at Hemkund Sahib in a day.
