Dehradun, pkgnews24.com,Holi is a festival that brings energy, joy, hope, aspiration, belonging and pervasiveness in our lives, gives us an opportunity for change and transformation. Because of the affection and generosity inherent in it, we also consider it as “festival of love”, “festival of colors” or “festival of spring”. Do you know how Holi started? In our ancient Indian scriptures it is believed that Holika was the sister of a demon king Hiranyakashipu. Even his hair was not plucked and this evil intention of Hiranyakashipu was burnt to ashes along with Holika’s pyre. Both kinds of evils, internal and external.
Let us look at it from a different angle this year to learn something from this festival of colors and imbibe it in our lives. Imagine for a moment, that there are only two colors in the world – white and black. Presents a lot on the way, gives a lot of experience, teaches a lot.
But our brain sees the whole world in these two colors. We have restricted our life in the category of good and bad, right and wrong, simple and complex, happiness and sorrow, rich and poor, successful and unsuccessful, similarly this list can be longer. We are surrounded by duality, because we are living our life in such extreme sense without thinking anything. We are completely ignorant of “middle house”. We do not even notice that life presents many shades to us. Each of them has its own beauty, utility and importance. So let us embrace every shade, every color and every experience of life and see how it helps us in our growth and development.
White light is also made up of a spectrum of different colors. That is why we have to pass through different colors of life to get the desired result and to reach our intended goal, to embrace the Supreme Light. That’s why we learn to live in a sense of acceptance, a dignified acceptance of whatever is beyond our limits and control. Acceptance of what is unknown in life. This acceptable feeling is a sign of gradual progress and development in our life. Come, let us say that I am ready to face every event that happens in my life. When we learn this attitude, then we will come in our life, in relationships, whatever sorrows in career, happiness whatever situation, situation will come. It will be included in it with the same spirit that it will further develop and improve us. Acceptance makes life blissful and advanced. Here I will caution you, that acceptance does not mean passively giving up on a situation. It means welcoming the infinite possibilities of life in the same way as many colors.
I am recalling at this moment a very thought-provoking suggestion from Acourt Healy’s book, “The Power of Now”, where he says, “As soon as you respect the present moment, let the unhappiness and conflict disappear from life.” And life goes on with joy and ease. When you are aware of the present moment then whatever work you do, however simple it may be, becomes full of love, protection and quality. .
So in every moment, whatever it may be, we have a choice whether to welcome that moment with joyful acceptance to work towards achieving our goals or from the present that we think is incomplete. Be dissatisfied. It is up to us to choose the option wisely and take advantage of whatever comes our way. When an acceptable feeling takes place in our heart, then this world automatically unfolds before us in all its colors. Many people blame darkness and praise light. But the importance of light cannot be known without darkness. Therefore, as soon as we accept our present joyfully, our “self” is a long one. Taking the leap opens the door to infinite possibilities for us. My Guru Chariji often used to say, “The first lesson of yoga is to learn to accept who we are. We should neither think exaggeratedly nor under-represented ourselves. We should neither have any exaggerated attitude towards ourselves nor others or should consider inferior. Is .”
So, on this occasion of Holi, let us all try to see the acceptable feeling in our heart and get drenched in all the colors that come in the path of life. First accept ourselves as we are, and accept that we are imperfect, and we have a long way to go in this journey of life. Once this acceptable feeling has arisen within us, then half the work is done automatically. And for the remaining work, we will be able to pave our path with courage, willpower and perseverance.
