Dehradun, pkgnews24.com,The Basantotsav, which is organized every year at Raj Bhavan, Dehradun, is being organized this year on March 08-09, 2022. In the competitions organized on the occasion of Basantotsav, flower lovers, flower growers, organizations related to flower business participate in large numbers in the state. In order to increase the interest of the people and farmers towards flower production, this year competitions are being organized in 51 sub-categories of 12 main competitions:-

Painting competition for Gup-school and other children (05 to 18 years age group)
First, second and third prizes will be awarded in the said competition. Thus a total of 153 prizes will be awarded to the winners on March 09, 2022 after the decision of the jury.
To participate in the competition, the application form is received from the Office of the Chief Horticulture Officer, Vikas Bhavan, Survey Chowk, Dehradun and Office of the Director, Horticulture Mission, State Park, Circuit House, Dehradun as well as the website of the Horticulture Department (www-shm-uk- gov-in) can also be downloaded from . Apart from this, application forms can also be obtained from the venue. In order to avoid the crowd, covid-19 protocol and time constraints on inauguration day in previous years and to give more time to the participants to display their exhibits, the venue of the event is tomorrow, March 07, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 07:00 PM. Registration will be done by the personnel appointed in the Registration Committee constituted by the Horticulture Department at (Raj Bhavan Complex, Dehradun). The registration work will also be completed on March 08, 2022 from 06:00 am to 09:30 at the venue (Raj Bhavan Complex, Dehradun). Assistance will be provided to the participants by the personnel of the Horticulture Department appointed at the designated places for the exhibits to be displayed in various competitions. About 30 departments of the state will participate in this two-day event, in which apart from the Horticulture Department, various research institutes / agricultural universities / boards / corporations etc. will be prominent. These departments/institutions will display their public utility programs/techniques on the basis of excellence by putting up their stalls in the event.
