Congressmen observed a fast at Pant Park in Haldwani today in protest against the manner in which the youths protesting in Haldwani were lathi-charged 2 days ago. Many leaders including Congress State President Karan Mahra, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, MLA Sumit Hridayesh were present in the fasting program.
He accused the central government of playing with the future of the youth. Congress has demanded strict action against those who lathi-charge the youth. The future of the country and the youth is being put at risk by this scheme. At the same time, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya warned the central government and said that this move of the central government is a suicide step for the unemployed. With the youth preparing for recruitment for years, the government is cheating by implementing the Agneepath scheme, due to which there is a lot of anger among the youth. The Congress has appealed to the youth not to go for the recruitment of the youth army, due to which the government has to withdraw its scheme. Congress has appealed to all the youth to conduct their agitation in a peaceful manner. Congress stands with the youth in their fight. The Congress has raised the demand of the Central Government to withdraw the Agneepath scheme. While holding a joint press conference, eight party MLAs including former state president of Congress Pritam Singh said that the agitation would continue till the Agneepath scheme was withdrawn. Pritam Singh says that the central government is engaged in playing with the future of the youth. He said that since 2014, the Modi government has been duping people through speeches. Congress MLA Rajendra Bhandari says that if the government has implemented the scheme after much deliberation, then the government should tell with whom it churned. The government should immediately withdraw the Agneepath scheme. This scheme is playing with the future of the youth as well as the security of the country.

Accused of chain snatching and molesting girl arrested


Dehradun. A vicious crook of chain snatching, molesting a girl and stealing a two-wheeler has been arrested under Rishikesh Kotwali area. The team of SOG countryside has arrested the miscreant. The looted chain, a scooty and a bike have been recovered from the possession of the accused. The accused has already been jailed for theft, assault and illegal possession of arms.
CO DC Dhoundiyal said that a few days ago, a case of chain snatching came to light from an elderly woman near Geetanagar. On the complaint of the victim, the police registered a case and started investigation. During this, based on the footage of CCTV cameras and information received from the informer, the miscreant was identified as Happy resident of Valmiki Basti Rishikesh. To arrest the accused, three different teams were formed and the help of SOG countryside was also taken. Late on Saturday evening, the police arrested the accused when he was going to carry out a new crime in Raiwala police station area while sitting on a stolen bike. Investigation revealed that the accused had tried to molest a girl going to tuition a few days back by grabbing her hand. Apart from this, a scooty parked in Koyal Ghati Rishikesh was also stolen. DC Dhoundiyal said that the accused has already gone to jail for theft, assault and possession of illegal weapons. According to DC Dhoundiyal, during interrogation the accused has told himself that he is addicted to drugs. He has also confessed to committing criminal offenses to satisfy his addiction. The CO told that the accused was produced in the court, after which the court sent him to jail.

Action on illegal mining, nine vehicles seized, five lakh fine 


Dehradun. All the SDMs are continuously taking strict action on illegal mining under the ongoing campaign after the instructions of the CM. Under which the Revenue and Mining Department took major action on illegal mining in Vikasnagar area. The Revenue and Mining Department has seized 9 trucks and dumpers in the case.
The Revenue and Mining Department under the leadership of Tehsildar Vikasnagar Sohan Singh Ragan and District Mining Officer Virendra Singh under Vikasnagar area launched a campaign against illegal mining and illegal transportation of mining. During this 7 trucks and 2 dumpers were seized. In which 2 vehicles were found without rawanna and 7 vehicles were found to be filled with minerals in excess of capacity. Along with this, action of fine of 5 lakh was also taken. District Magistrate R Rajesh Kumar said that continuous action is being taken against illegal mining, transportation and storage. Under this, this action was taken under Vikasnagar area. This type of action will continue in future also. For which necessary guidelines have been given to the concerned authorities.
