New Delhi ,dehradun, pkgnews24.com- On the occasion of 401th Prakash Purb of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, a program was organized by Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, University of Delhi today. Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur was the ninth Guru of the Sikhs. His contribution is unforgettable among those who have sacrificed their lives to protect religion and human values, ideals and principles in world history.
The event was organized to remember the supreme sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib for protecting the right to consciousness and freedom of religion of one’s choice. Smriti Irani, Union Minister, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India was present as the Chief Guest. Apart from this, many dignitaries like Sardar Harmeet Singh, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Sardar Jagdeep Singh etc. were present.
It started with Shabad Kirtan. Remembering Guru Tegh Bahadur’s sacrifice and his contribution to Indian society, he also remembered Guru Angad Dev. Prof Manjit Singh called for encouraging research and translation work on the personality and work of Guru Tegh Bahadur in Indian languages ​​other than Punjabi.
After that, Sardar Tarlochan Singh, quoting the speech given by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi at the Red Fort from the stage, highlighted the relevance of the ideals and values ​​of Guru Tegh Bahadur in today’s era. The chief guest Smriti Irani and other dignitaries were also honored with mementoes and shawls in the program.
Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, in his statement, spoke about the forced conversion taking place on a global scale and remembering all the gurus of the Sikh sect and their sacrifices.
Sardar S Harmeet Singh Kalka thanked Smriti Irani and Prime Minister for the decision to celebrate the sacrifice of Char Sahibzadas as Veer Bal Diwas in the country.
