* 2nd Platoon Central Reserve Police Force was the first, 1st Squad Garhwal Rifles was the second and 5th Platoon Uttarakhand Mahila Dal was the third among the parading troops.

On the occasion of the 74th Republic Day, Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Seni) hoisted the flag at the Republic Day celebrations held at the Parade Ground on Thursday and saluted the national flag and took the parade salute. On this occasion, NCC contingents including CRPF, ITBP, Police, PAC, Home Guard, PRD personnel paraded and saluted the Governor. Folk artists of the state and various school children also performed various cultural folk dances. On the occasion of Republic Day, Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmeet Singh (Senior) and Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami unveiled the ‘Vision Document’ of Uttarakhand Police. Outstanding police personnel were honored for their commendable services on the occasion.
On this occasion, the Governor and Chief Minister paid tributes to Haryana Roadways driver Shri Sushil Kumar, operator Shri Paramjit Nayan and two personnel working in Uttam Sugar Mill, Nishu and others who played an important role in the relief and rescue work of Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant Rajat was awarded Rs. 01-01 lakh, citation and souvenir (replica of Brahma Kamal) by the Information Department under the announcement of Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami. The award was received by Mrs. Ritu, wife of Sushil Kumar and Mr. Suresh Kumar, father of Paramjit. The police department also presented separate honorariums to all.
During the Republic Day program held at the parade ground, scenery based on various programmes, schemes and policies by Women Empowerment and Child Development Department, Rural Development, Tourism Department, Horticulture Department, Education Department, Health Department, Forest Department and Industry Department was also displayed was done. The exhibition of the Horticulture Department got first place, the Tourism Department got second place and the Education Department got third place. On this occasion, 2nd Garhwal Rifles, CRPF, ITBP, Uttarakhand Police, IRB II, Uttarakhand Special Police, Uttarakhand Special Police (Women), Home Guard, PRD, NCC Boys, NCC Girls participated in the grand parade. Among the parading troops, 2nd Platoon Central Reserve Police Force came first, 1st Squad Garhwal Rifles came second and 5th Platoon Uttarakhand Mahila Dal came third. Various cultural groups performed Chholia, Garhwali, Bhangra, Kauthik, Basant, Harul and dance on the occasion. The audience enjoyed it.

Flag raising ceremony at the Raj Bhavan
Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Seni) hoisted the flag and saluted the national flag at the Raj Bhavan on the occasion of Republic Day. He paid tributes to the great heroes of freedom and constitution makers who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. After hoisting the flag at the Raj Bhavan, he distributed sweets to the officials and employees of the Raj Bhavan.
