Dehradun, 19 September.* Devbhoomi Journalist Union, registered in the auditorium of the local Vishwa Samvad Kendra. In a program organized by Uttarakhand, Chief Guest Yogesh Bhatt, Information Commissioner of Uttarakhand State Information Commission and Ajay Singh Rana, President of Uttaranchal Press Club, members of Uttarakhand Journalist Welfare Fund and Chief Minister Journalist Samman Pension Scheme Committee, Dr. V.D. Sharma and Nisha Rastogi was honored by presenting her bodysuit, Tulsi garland and bouquet. Apart from this, Garhwal edition of “Sach Ki Toph” weekly was also released.
Speaking as the chief guest, Information Commissioner Shri Yogesh Bhatt said that the role of print media as the fourth pillar of democracy remains important even today. Despite adverse circumstances, the credibility of print media remains intact in the society. We are confident that the Gun of Truth will remain steadfast in this belief.
Shri Bhatt said that the newly nominated members of Journalist Welfare Fund and Pension Scheme will establish new dimensions by coordinating with each other for the welfare of journalists.
Today, journalists and journalist organizations will have to work unitedly and unanimously for the problems of journalists.
Uttaranchal Press Club President Ajay Singh Rana said that this effort of Devbhoomi Journalist Union is commendable. The newly appointed members will work in the interest of journalists by maintaining an ideal tradition.

After the program, in the meeting of the state executive of the union, it was unanimously announced to dissolve the Dehradun district unit with immediate effect. It was decided to reorganize the district unit by the end of next month.
Apart from this, while filling the vacant posts in the State Executive, the House unanimously nominated Sanjeev Sharma as the Vice President, Deepak Dhiman as the Organization Secretary, Harendra Prasad (Khatima), Anil Rana (Gochar, Chamoli), Surya Prakash Sharma as the Member Executive. The said nomination will be operationally valid till April 25, 2024.
The meeting was presided over by State President Vijay Jaiswal and conducted by State General Secretary Dr. V.D. Sharma.
