Joshimath/ Gopeshwar, ukpkg.com, Dehradun March 15. Shri Ajendra Ajay, President of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has written a letter to the Director of Geological Survey of India (GSI) for a geographical inspection of the landslides taking place near the famous Shri Narsingh Temple complex located in Joshimath.

Referring to the importance of the site, the temple committee chairman has asked the GSI technical experts to make available the test reports/reports and suggestions to the temple committee after the geographical inspection, so that the temple committee can work on the anti-landing action plan.

The temple committee president Ajendra has mentioned in the letter that Jyotimath / Joshimath city, famous for tourism and pilgrimage, is the winter seat of Lord Badrivishal and the center of Sanatan Dharma. Shri Narsingh Mandir Joshimath, which was renovated a few years ago by the temple committee, is a typical example of Himadri style of architecture.

He has mentioned that some part of the Shri Narsingh temple complex, which is near the temple committee employee’s residence, is sinking due to geological reasons. During the construction of the temple, the temple committee had done the wall construction work using 90 meters deep rafts under the site expansion work. As land subsidence is being seen at many places in Joshimath Nagar, therefore
There is a need to prepare a rescue action plan.
