Governor took a meeting of high officials regarding the preparation of Chardham Yatra

Dehradun, pkgnews24.com,Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Seni) held a meeting with the high officials of the government regarding the preparations for Chardham Yatra at Raj Bhavan on Thursday. The DGP and the Heads of the concerned departments were present in the meeting along with the high officials of the government.
The Governor said that the Chardham Yatra is the identity of the social and cultural system of Uttarakhand. All the departments have to work in coordination with each other. He directed that full care should be taken for the convenience and safety of the devotees. Local citizens are an integral part of Chardham Yatra, without their participation this Yatra is not possible. Hoteliers, car owners and small shop owners are important participants in this journey. He instructed to take full care of everyone’s facilities.
The Governor said that during the Yatra, do value addition using technology. Facilities should be provided to passengers through technology including mobile apps, drones and artificial intelligence. Market should be provided to local products, especially the products of women’s group, through travel. He said that our word ‘OUR’ is hidden in the English word tourism, attention should be paid to it. Governor said that this is not the duty of 09 to 05, in this work should be done with the spirit of complete dedication. Disaster management machinery should be kept ready during the journey. The role of the first responder, including the police, is important during a disaster, they need to be alert.
In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Home Smt. Radha Raturi and DGP Ashok Kumar informed that necessary steps have been taken for the safety of the pilgrims during the Yatra. Traffic police have been deployed at 133 places of traffic management.
Secretary Transport Arvind Singh Hiyanki informed that 1808 buses have been identified for the journey, along with 500 additional buses are also being arranged. He said that travel cells have been constituted at 19 places to check the fitness and papers of the vehicles. From where 1586 green cards have been issued so far. 166 trip cards have been issued on the online portal.
Secretary Medical Radhika Jha informed that the deployment of doctors is being done on the basis of rotation on the travel routes. He said that as a solution to the problem of cardiologists, at present 35 doctors have been given training for first aid of heart patients. Telemedicine services will also be taken during the travel period.
Secretary Drinking Water Nitesh Jha informed that this time 100 water ATMs are being set up in the Yatra routes. He said that providing pure drinking water to the devotees is the priority of the department.
Secretary Disaster Management Dr. Ranjit Sinha informed that Tehsil Disaster Management Centers are active on the Yatra routes. People from amongst the local citizens are being given training of Aapda Mitra.
Secretary Food and Civil Supplies BS Manral informed that the supply of food and essential items has been ensured on the travel routes. The reserve stock at 78 petrol pumps and 66 gas agencies along the travel routes is being taken care of.
Managing Director GMVN Swati S. Bhadauria informed that till now 10.5 crore bookings have been received through online booking for travel. He said that all the passenger rest houses have been pinned on Google Map. The control room of GMVN has become functional 24X7 from 26th April.
Secretary Tourism Dilip Jawalkar informed that the Registration and Tourist Care web portal is being operated for the devotees. Devotees can start the journey by registering themselves through mobile app and web portal or through physically installed kiosks. He said that the work of linking the website of tourism with the services of other departments is going on.

Ashok Kumar, Secretary Shri Governor, Dr. Ranjit Sinha, Secretary Tourism Dilip Jawalkar, Secretary Medical Radhika Jha, Secretary Drinking Water Nitesh Jha, Secretary Transport Arvind Singh Hiyanki, Secretary Food and Civil Supplies BS Manral, Managing Director, G.M. VN Swati S. Bhadauria, Director General Information Ranveer Singh Chauhan along with high officers and heads of departments of police and government were present.
