Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (SE) participated in the program organized on the occasion of 70th birth anniversary celebrations of Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj at Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh on Saturday. On his arrival at Parmarth Niketan, Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Seni) was received by the police with a guard of honor.


During this, Governor Lt. General Gurmeet Singh (Seni) was honored with the Ganga Vani Award for the best work done in the army and administrative field. Along with this, Union Culture Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and industrialist Shri Vinod Kumar were also honored with Ganga Vani Award. During this, the book “Encyclopedia of Hinduism” was presented to the Governor by Parmarth Niketan.

Addressing the program, the Governor said that Parmarth Niketan is a divine, grand and holy place and Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj is a tree of service spirit. He wished Swamiji on his 70th birthday and wished him a successful, brilliant, long and happy life. He said that Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj has done 62 years of true service, he has always thought about Ganga, environment, poor and nation, society. He said that those who serve the society are blessed by the Lord.

The Governor said that this birth anniversary of Pujya Swamiji Maharaj is being celebrated as Seva Saptah, and this second day of this week has been dedicated to the protection of culture and heritage. He said that service, culture and heritage, these three words are going to give complete meaning to the personality of Swamiji. He said that the land of Uttarakhand is the land of gods, land of sages, land of soldiers. No one can stop India from becoming a Vishwaguru under the guidance of sages and wise saints. India’s great culture, rich heritage is what makes our past golden.

The Governor described the birthday of Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji and the day before World Environment Day as a divine coincidence. He said that he was very happy to know that many works are being done to protect the environment under the guidance and guidance of Swamiji. Indian culture is being promoted to foreign countries by Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji. Swami Chidananda Saraswati was the inspiration for the establishment of the Hindu Jain Temple in Pittsburgh and the Shiva Temple in Sydney Australia. He said that the holy tradition of Guru Nanak Dev ji had imbued the people in one voice of consciousness with his thoughts traveling in different directions for the unity and integrity of India. Guru Nanak Dev Ji had given the message of “Sarbat da Bhala”. As a true follower of the same saint tradition, the work being done by Swamiji to protect Hindu traditions and culture is exemplary.

The Governor said that on this holy occasion of the birth anniversary of Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji, like the ancient sages and sages, I wish to serve Mother India for thousands of years.
