Goa. Special Principal Secretary Information Abhinav Kumar met the team of Uttarakhand-produced short Hindi film Patal-Ti at the Uttarakhand Film Pavilion in Goa on Thursday and congratulated them.
Kumar wished the entire team well and said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also sent his best wishes. Chief Minister Dhami said that it is a matter of pride for the state that the efforts of the youth of Rudraprayag district have made their mark at the national and international levels. Kumar said the state government would give all possible support and encouragement to such efforts. Patal Ti will be screened at the film festival tomorrow, November 25th. The new film policy will make special provisions to encourage films selected for international festivals. He said that it is a priority to give all possible support to young filmmakers of the state so that a healthy and prosperous film culture can develop in Uttarakhand.
On this occasion, Santosh Rawat, the producer-director of the film, and his team from Rudraprayag district, said that the short film has been produced with their limited resources. The film has been screened at the 39th International Short Film Festival in Busan, South Korea. It has also been exhibited in Moscow. Rawat said that the film focuses on the Bhotiya tribe of Uttarakhand, which is about the emotional relationship between a grandfather and grandson. The film is 26 minutes long and brings to light the conflict between nature and humans in the mountains. Rawat thanked the Special Principal Secretary Information. He also requested the state government to provide support to the youth.
Famous actors Pankaj Tripathi and Sanjay Suri visited the Uttarakhand Pavilion. Nitin Upadhyay was also present.
Famous actor Pankaj Tripathi, who has made a name for himself in Bollywood with his art and simple personality, visited the Uttarakhand Pavilion and learned about the film policy and shooting location. Pankaj Tripathi was presented with a Uttarakhand hill cap and Angavastra on the occasion. Tripathi said that Uttarakhand is a beautiful place. Also, famous film actor Sanjay Suri also visited the Uttarakhand Pavilion. Suri suggested that short films and video blogging be included in the film policy. Sanjay Suri has shot two films in Uttarakhand during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 53rd International Film Festival has been attended by various state governments. Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, Jharkhand as well as other filmmakers and directors are participating. Amidst all this, Uttarakhand Pavilion remains a center of attraction for all filmmakers and directors.
