Dehradun: Governor Lt. Gen. (Senior) Gurmeet Singh graced the occasion as the chief guest at a function held at the National Water Survey Office at Rajpur Road on the occasion of Navy Day. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was also present at the function. On the occasion, the Governor and the Chief Minister jointly launched the Indian Warning Information and Navigation Service and Maritime Information Chart, observed the Navy exhibition and appreciated the contribution of the Navy in the security of the country.
Governor Lt. Gen. (Senior) Gurmeet Singh wished the people of India a happy Navy Day and said that we are all proud of the Indian Navy. He said that today is also a day to remember the achievements of the Indian Navy’s ‘Operation Trident’ during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The Governor said that the transformation, digitization and map making that the Indian Navy is doing is a matter of pride for all of us.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also congratulated the officers and employees of the Navy on the occasion of Navy Day and said that the history of the Navy has been one of courage and valour. The way the Navy has started preparing digital maps using science and technology at the National Water Survey Office is a realization of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s spirit of One India, Greater India and Self-Reliant India.
Navy officers including Chief Hydrographer, Vice Admiral Adhir Arora, Joint Chief Hydrographer, Real Admiral Lochan Singh Pathania were present on the occasion.
