Nainital,State Chief Secretary SS Sandhu, on reaching Nainital during his three-day tour, took a review meeting of development works with all the officers of the district at Uttarakhand Administrative Academy, Nainital. During this, the Chief Secretary said that for the development of Haldwani metropolis, the state government is preparing an action plan to provide relief to the local people from the problems of better drinking water system, roads, traffic and water logging at a cost of 2200 crores. Work will start soon in Haldwani
Chief Secretary SS Sandhu told that in order to improve the economic condition and social life of the cultivators of the hilly areas of Uttarakhand, the state government has started a polyhouse scheme at a cost of 300 crores, under which the cultivators will be able to do farming on the basis of regional geographical conditions. In the coming time, the state government will also provide employment to 1 lakh youths across the state through the polyhouse scheme.
Giving information, the Chief Secretary said that the work of Jamrani dam project to be built in Ranibagh area of Haldwani is also in the final stage, soon the work of Jamrani dam will be started. All the formalities regarding dam construction have been completed and financial approval has been done. As soon as the budget is released, the work of dam construction will be started, after which drinking water will be supplied to the people of nearby areas including Haldwani.
In a press conference, the Chief Secretary said that the state government is formulating a new policy to control illegal encroachment on government land and to vacate the encroachment on government land, the new policy will be implemented within a week. Government lands will be monitored through satellite. The responsibility of regional officers will be fixed to ensure that there is no encroachment on government land. Despite this, if government land is encroached upon, action will be taken against the concerned officer.
