Dehradun, Bahuguna informed that to encourage fisheries in the state, an integrated state-level Aquapark will be set up, for which the approval of the project worth Rs 44.50 crore has been obtained from the Government of India.

For this, 16.598 hectares of land has been transferred to the Fisheries Department in Udhamsinghnagar district. In the financial year 2022-23, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious “Matsya Sampada Yojana”, a total of 17 projects with a total cost of Rs 48.79 crore have been approved by the Government of India. More than 40 clusters of trout farming have been prepared in the mountainous region, keeping in view the success of which, now arrangements have been made for the construction of polylinear ponds on a cluster basis for rearing other species of fish, so that even on the availability of land in even the smallest area, arrangements have been made. Pond can be constructed.
In the financial year 2022-23, a total of 689 Kisan Credit Cards were approved to fish farmers. In this way, Kisan Credit Cards have been sanctioned to a total of 1503 fish farmers till date.

For easy availability of trout fish seed in the state, through NABARD, the work of establishment of 01 trout hatchery has been started in Boong Loong village of Pithoragarh district.
